Irritants

Just some stuff that irritates me.

People who pronounce "armoire" as "armwah". Yeah, we know you took French in high school, unfortunately you forgot it all so stop it. That goes for "foy AY" too. Also, marquise shaped gemstones. They aren't up above a movie theater.

Pollen. We are having record high pollen counts and my sinuses are NOT HAPPY about this.

My period. It's *STILL* going on. It's much lighter, but for pete's sake, period, you were late yes, but enough is enough! It's been almost two weeks of bleeding now, and I really need you to go away for a month.

I had some more, but this headache has driven them right out of my mind, so I'll go ahead and post this as is.

I just made a post in a group and needed to use the phrase "per se". It got me thinking about how I so often see people misspell it "per say" and even "persay" (HAHA!!!) and I wondered what do the per say/persay people think when they see per se spelled correctly? Do they even know what it is?

I'm officially tired of this non-word. It was cute at first. TEN YEARS AGO! Now it just sounds stupid. Say Gigantic or enormous please.

Emus

I am officially sick of ignoramuses pronouncing the word "Emu" as if it were spelled "Emoo."  Did these morons forget when their kindergarten teacher told them that "long vowels say their name"?  The word is spelled E M U...yes, that last letter is a long U.  Not an OO, but a U.  LONG.  That means it says its name.  Its name is U (pronounced YOU) not OO (pronounced oo).
