I'm tired of hearing idiots saying "a pant" rather than "a pair of pants." There's no such thing as "a pant" unless you're talking about a dog who breathed heavy one time.
That would drive me bonkers too. I've never heard anyone saying that, thankfully. Though I've often wondered why we call them "pants" when really it's just one article of clothing. Probably has something to do with History and Fashion. lol
From what I understand, it's because pants were originally two articles, one for each leg, they weren't joined. Then eventually (and thankfully) someone had the idea to sew them together.
