I had the weirdest dream last night. I dreamt that I was helping some Jews do some things they weren't allowed to on the sabbath. IDK where that came from! I think it's my feverish state since I currently have a bad cold and my sleep was just weird anyway.

I'm finding myself really stressed out lately, and I think it's because of politics, you know? I feel like the stakes are so great this time around and I'm panicking. So I'm going to pull a Scarlett O'Hara and think about that tomorrow. I'm going to start avoiding reading stuff that'll upset me and think about superficial things for a while.

My first item is that I'm SICK TO DEATH of "armpit bags". Why did purse designers suddenly start skimping on the shoulder strap? I see so many gorgeous bags except for the strap which will force the bag under my arm and cause the whole thing to be mashed. YUCK. I see women walking around smooshing their bags under their arms and probably getting pit stains on them too. WTF handbag makers? W.T.F?!?

I'm not going back into the _p post about the crazed thugs who attacked the American consulate, because my blood pressure just cannot take the strain from the people who are falling all over themselves to say "it's ok when muslims do it." No It's not. It's not ok when anyone does it. It's not ok to kill over media. Period. End of story. And it's almost funny because their own countrymen say it's not ok!

It's also pretty xenophobic (I'm not going to say racist because "muslim" isn't a race) to say that "those people can't help themselves" or "of course they'll riot, those people are like that!" or any of the other ethnocentric bullshit statement so-called liberals are flinging around over there.

So if anyone is here from there, I'm not even going to acknowledge that kind of crap, so I'm out.

Jeans

I have lost so much weight now, that I can take off and put on my jeans without undoing the button and zipper!

My husband just sent me an email telling me that he has a guy in an upcoming class that he's teaching who has never turned on a computer in his life!

Ok, here's a new one on me. I saw an idiot post "one in the same" instead of "one and the same". One in the same doesn't even make sense! What is the one supposedly inside of? AHAHAHA!

Over the weekend, The Big Aussie and I had an opportunity to go to The Home Depot to get some tools or whatever. (IDK, he handles all that stuff, I can barely stay conscious in there as it's so boring, but he's happy to to go Sephora with me so I am happy to go to HD with him.) Anyway, we're holding hands as we walk into the shop, we always walk around like that, it's no big deal to us, it's just normal. But the greeter is like FREAKING OUT. " OMG YOU ARE HOLDING HANDS! WHAT IS YOUR SECRET? HOW ARE YOU STILL ABLE TO TOLERATE EACH OTHER AT YOUR AGE?!?"

Is it that unusual for an older couple to still hold hands? I never really thought anything of it. Then again, when his sister visited last year she said "you guys act like a couple of teenagers!" when all we did was exchange a chaste kiss (no tongues, lips closed) in front of her a couple of times. It doesn't seem that weird to me that even old people like ourselves would be affectionate (tastefully, not sucking face) with each other.

Very frequently I wake up with a song in my head that will play on a loop until I hear something real. This can be good or bad. Today it's good, but this one always makes me cry for some reason. Anyway, here it is, and thank you Willow for turning me on to this song in the first place back when you were doing your report on Wuthering Heights.

Almost Lover - A Fine Frenzy

Also, I only lost .6 pounds this week. Oh well, at least it's something!

Nail Polish

A couple of weeks ago, I got a new nail polish, a new color by Revlon called Bewitching. It's a very dark red, and I liked it. Then, my husband bought me a color that I'd used before but not in a few years called Raven Red. Well, I think these two colors are identical. So much so that I decided to paint nine nails Raven Red and one Bewitching, and guess what? Can't tell a difference! Why would they sell two identical colors under different names, while discontinuing my favorite color, Frankly Scarlet?

My husband was at a restaurant yesterday and heard another patron order a "red beer." He waited to see what it was, turns out it's beer and tomato juice! BLEAHHHHHH! Also, a kid ordered a Dr. Pepper but the restaurant didn't have that, they only had Doc. Holiday soda, which is apparently a local brand in AZ. I wonder if the "red beer" is just an AZ thing or do people all over drink that?

Read a lot of Catching Fire last night before bed and I'm exhausted today because I was dreaming the book. Ugh. You don't get good sleep when you fight all night.

Besides that, the book is taking a turn I didn't expect. I'll be glad to finish this one.

Charter just interrupted my music channel (Music Choice "Soundscapes") for an Emergency Broadcast of The Young and the Restless. Honestly Charter, if I wanted to watch a dumbass soap opera I would be doing it! Someone needs to tell them what the Emergency Alert System is actually for.

You guys have GOT to watch this video. I have been up there several times but I've never seen the falls that strong. Usually it's more like a trickle of water. These guys are NUTS!

Well, my LJ notification emails are back to normal now. No icons, no reply box, just a normal email with links to the thread and whatnot. I didn't change anything on either LJ or gmail, it just decided to be normal again for some reason. WEIRD!

Today when I get notifications from LJ, they look all weird! I can see people's icons and everything! Also there is a reply box ON THE EMAIL ITSELF! I didn't change anything in my settings on LJ nor on gmail. It's so weird!

OMG there are some TERRIBLE people in ontd political! They are actually saying it's OK to put innocent people in jail. SERIOUSLY! It's in the post about that guy who was accused of rape having all charges dropped. I am seriously stunned that people think it's fine to put innocent people in jail. And just the other day they were celebrating the release of the West Memphis Three, when it turns out I guess they think it's fine these guys were in jail and the real killer is running loose! UGH, seriously disappointed in this group.

Actually it's only one or two posters. I should just calm down and remember that most of this group, like me, supports JUSTICE and not locking up the first person seen after a crime.

I realized that I didn't see the free for all this week, and checked and I'm no longer a member of ONTD Creepy!  WTF?  How did that happen?  I went over and submitted to re-join, but I can't figure out how I'm not a member anyway?  Did I accidentally quit?  It's so weird!!!!  It's my favorite group, so I just don't get it!

Ok, so there was a tornado headed straight for us.  I'm home alone and kind of panicking.  I start thinking that I should change out of my tacky shorts.  If my house is involved in damage, I want to be dressed decently.  WTF?  Yes.  So I'm changing clothes trying to figure out which shirt goes better with these pants in case my house is destroyed and I wind up having to see rescuers or something.  I don't even know about myself sometimes.

We're all clear for now.  For the record, I picked a tan shirt with dark blue jeans.  I'm not that happy with it, to be honest, but I got a grip and realized I should get to the bathroom where it's safer for crying out loud.

Emus

I am officially sick of ignoramuses pronouncing the word "Emu" as if it were spelled "Emoo."  Did these morons forget when their kindergarten teacher told them that "long vowels say their name"?  The word is spelled E M U...yes, that last letter is a long U.  Not an OO, but a U.  LONG.  That means it says its name.  Its name is U (pronounced YOU) not OO (pronounced oo).

Why do a few people post on LJ using a  teeeeeny itty bitty font?  Why bother changing the font at all?  I don't get it.  I have no idea what they are saying in their itty bitty font because I just skip on by those posts.  But I still don't get it.
